Tim Cook openly apologized about the sub-par iOS 6 maps. He suggested a whole bunch of 3rd party apps instead. Google reportedly did not hand over the necessary data for turn-by-turn directions which prompted Apple to release their own mapping solution.
Apple v/s Scout : My experiences
I personally used Scout app (by TeleNav) when it was free for a month. I launched it on the iPhone 5 and lo behold, Scout offered a free year of turn-by-turn based navigation which is voice enabled. It is pretty neat and gets the job …

I have been using Google+ for about 3 weeks now and it is nothing short of ‘awesome’! An Android app was available long back but Apple approved Google+ today and it looks exactly like that of its Android counterpart. I prefer Google+ over FaceBook for some serious social experience just because there aren’t apps or ads on Google+ just yet. All in all, Google+ is definitely worth a shot.
Download Google+ for your iPhone here if you already have a Google+ account.
I have plenty of Google+ invites to give away. Ask …

Wow, Apple finally approved Google’s own awesome iPhone application, free on App Store (Download). There were paid alternatives previously which didn’t do justice to Google’s service at all.
Check some tips out to get the most out of Google voice and hey, stop paying that $20 bill for unlimited texts, will you?!

4.0, App, Cydia, iPhone 101, iPhone 4, jailbreak »

iPhone 4, despite its signal woes is a beast when it comes to processing power and pure, raw speed (a lil’ better than 3GS). Jailbreaking iPhone 4 will give you access to themes, productive tools, unlock and more. I tested this approach with a 3GS, 3G and iPhone 4. It is a multi-iPhone jailbreak and requires no computer access! It is the same as described here but I wanted to document Cydia apps for iPhone 4.
Initially, I was unsure if Cydia is even needed for iPhone 4 with multitasking, wallpaper …

Qik Video Pro is FREE for the weekend, a $1.99 value! If you have an iPhone other than the 3GS, then you are better off with this app to shoot quick videos. I put it to test and it got some cool features not found in Apple’s own 3GS Video recorder app (camera app actually!).
Some of the features :

Upload to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Qik directly from your iPhone
Digital Zoom
Various themes (Frost, normal, black and white, red, normal, mirror,…) to shoot your videos in

So wait not and download it from the …

Apple’s iPhone had little or no updates to the UI ever since its inception (2007 June). The homescreen is way too boring when compared to the ever so popular Android phones. To add some life to the existing iPhone homescreen, install a free application called ‘Element’. It is a Cydget widget. You no longer have to launch each individual app (weather, email, sms, calendar,.. updates). Following are the steps to install it on your iPod Touch / iphone.

Your iPhone should be jailbroken before proceeding.
Launch Cydia and search for ‘Element’ and …

I have been using TeamViewer and Logmein for quite sometime now. I find TeamViewer to be a lot more straightforward and easy since I can easily initiate a remote session with most of my less tech-inclined friends’ PCs/Macs when they need some help.
Logmein’s iPhone app comes with a $29.99 price tag while TeamViewer outed 2 iterations of their app – FREE and $99.99! I checked the FREE version out in the following video and it worked flawlessly!

Follow these Tips/Pointers for a quick head-start
Your friend should install this quick and …

Microsoft did a fantastic job with their latest app for the iPhone – Bing! It more or less mimics Google’s app but in a much better fashion. This is a must-have iPhone  app, give it a shot and I am sure you will love it! Voice search is deeply integrated and Image slideshow is a treat to watch! All in all a fantastic effort from Microsoft. Hope they change the way image description is shown with each image and if they could include spoken directions with the directions – they …

App, Apps Crash, AppStore, Fix, iPhone 2.0, Tips »

After using Pwnage I have restored my iPhone numerous times following the AppStore apps crash! Interestingly enough Unofficial Apps and Cracked apps work great, just that official AppStore applications continue to crash with minimal usage of Cydia and Installer. It proved to be a challenging task to combat this issue. The following solutions or quick fixes may help you get a headstart saving you a trip to the Apple / ATT store or panic attacks for that matter! I might add this too – Steve Jobs admits the issue is …
