Yeah, you heard it right! The best guide ever, just buy an iPhone from AAPL or ATT and sit there in the store and unlock it – the simplest it can ever get! You need WiFi btb!!No Mac or PC required! Unlock the iPhone straight out of the box! Save the money from investing in Unlocking software and use it wisely 😉
1. Slide for Emergency calls, dial *#307# press call, now use the back button on the top of your screen to remove *#307# , now enter 0 , press call, press answer, press hold, press decline. Now you get to the contact list.
2. Push contacts and add a new contact and type in “prefs://11” as web-address and “http://jailbreakme.com” as an additional URL.
4. When you tap “prefs://11” you can now select your preferred WiFi gateway. I recommend an open WiFi network 🙂
5. Now press the home button and move the slider to the dial-pad. Repeat step 1 till you can access contacts.
6. Now you can go back to the contact list by Dialing 0, push call, then answer, then contacts, then hit the “http://jailbreakme.com” web address you typed in.
7. Scroll down to the bottom, click “Install AppSnapp”. Safari will exit and you’ll return to your springboard. Wait for the phone to reboot. Your phone is now jailbroken and Installer.app is ready to be explored 😉 (If it refuses to install, try installing it till you see the downloading thingy on the screen! It took more than 6 attempts on one of my friend’s iPhone!)
Well, at this stage, your iPhone should be activated partially – Cingular should work just fine! All the other networks should do a little tweaking to use your iPhone as a phone!
Unlock your iPhone :
Launch Installer.app and then click on “Sources” – > “Edit” – > “Add” – > Type i.unlock.no after http:// – > “Ok” -> Now anySIM 1.1.1 should show under “Unlocking Tools” – > Click on it and install it! You can now see anySIM icon on the Homescreen. Click on it and follow the instructions! Vodafone, T-mobile, 3 and what not, everyone can join the bandwagon now!!

Hi, I’m one of those who bought an iPhone with 1.1.1 and then upgraded to 1.1.2 (all this while, my iPhone was never unlocked nor jailbroken). Now, I want to jailbreak/unlock it. What should be the way to go? Downgrade to 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2 and unlock? Or do I wait for the jailbreak for 1.1.2 to appear? I’ve been hunting around so many iphone hacking websites but I’m totally confused as to how best to jailbreak it.

An Additional question, I read many forums today that the only thing you can do is activate it to the springboard as an iPod Touch only by downgrading the firmware to 1.1.1 but since the bootloader is 4.06 no unlock is official yet……
HERE IS MY QUESTION…..
If I DO need to downgrade to 1.1.1, when the unlock becomes available, will I need to re-Upgrade to 1.1.2? What would I have to do? Can I stay at firmware 1.1.1, and use the new stuff for bootloader 4.06 unlock? Please, someone answer….I’d greatly appreciate any help offered.

I am able to successfully unlock the phone and connect using TMobile service however I am facing issues with horizontal display. My IPhone is not displaying horizontal view except for web browsing. Not sure what is causing this problem, If you have any resolution please let me know.

Hey admin, on second thought I wanted to know you still have your iphone unlocked with 1.1.1 firmware up at craigslist.org? How much you want for it, and where exactly can I find it, I tried looking it up in NJ but there is North NJ, South NJ, and Central NJ, and what does your ad say so that I may find it. I was just considering the fact that if unlock is not released by this 13th I would just buy one off of you….:) The iPhone you sell, is it used by you personally, or is it just opened, unlock, and then put back in its box. I want to buy it off of you pretty soon, that is if no unlock is discovered by then, and of course, if you still have yours up for sell.

Just read up on another post, stating that today Dec. 8th, Apple came out with 1.1.3 firmware update for iPhone. And that this person said that if Apple was releasing 1.1.3, that this person was going to release the full tutorial for the “Full Tutorial for the OTB 1.1.2 iPhone.” here is the link….

I read here that the I Phones OTB with ver1.1.2 firmware can be activated and jailbroken just not unlocked, so it can be used as a ipod touch. But i cant find the instructions to do that?Is the procedure the same as that for activating the ver1.1.1 in this post?

hey-A guy who works at the source said the iphone will be sold in canada this february, mines from the states, it’ll still have to be unlocked etc, and it’ll be different from the canadian ones that will be sold right? When I get it next week and I take it out of the box (im in canada) do i put my rogers sim in, the at & t one or none at all when i do this firmware search and unlock process?? also do i take it right out of the box and try the unlock or do i hook it up to an outlet or computer first????

@ Tawheed : I am not sure about this hack. If it were true, then it would have made headlines which is not the case so far. Only 1.1.2 OTB users can confirm this!!

@ Tawheed : You are having a 4.06 bootloader iPhone. Bootloader is different from modem firmware. I don’t know of a crack yet. You might want to try the link you posted earlier and let us all know if it works 🙂
