Well, QuickPwn and Jailbreak are interrelated. Once you use QuickPwn, it is deemed jailbreaking. It is the phone that is being unlocked that matters. No big deal.

why does it matter if it is being unlocked? and unlocked to?

    sorry kkiran,

just another quick qn, whats the difference between QuickPWN and Pwnage?

  • jiren said:

    hi kkiran,

I’ve just ran Quickpwn 2.2 on my iphone and it works fine until after I do some actions (ie, press on/off and home button, release on/off button, press home button etc..)
the screen of Quickpwn is now stuck at “Quickpwn is about to run on your iphone 3G” and there is no progression..
    pleases help!!

Not to worry, you just have to restart the whole process. Restart your iPhone (by pushing both power and home button if necessary) and your PC/Mac…. and timing is key…

    hi kkiran,

i’ve tried the procedure like around 10 times and each time itunes pops up and gives an error, saying “an unknown error occured (2001)”

    Good luck 🙂

    hello kiran,

my friend has an iphone 3g but is inable to use the service because he has tmobile, his power button is broken only. therefore he cannot jailbreak it through quickpwn or pwnage tool. is this firmware going to manually put cydia on there? and will yellowsn0w activate his service??

  • kkiran said:

    Hi Ryan,

This firmware has the old baseband, hence yellowsn0w is a no go on this firmware. You need a 2.2 f/w with 2.28 baseband with Cydia installed. A workaround for power button is sbsettings soft power/reboot button.

Hi! If you can provide some onfo like : 1) XP/Vista or Mac OS X , 2) Firmware your iPhone is on right now (2.1 or 2.2).. I can better suggest you… You have to sync your iPHone to your computer to preserve all your music. Jailbreaking doesn't affect your music and apps.

should i try the above firmware for ATT ?

Hi Will! I am not surprised!! Pl make sure the baseband firmware version is 2.28 (Settings->General->About->Modem Firmware).

All you have to do is update to 2.2.1 with 2.28 baseband.
