AppRadio 3 and ARUnchained – 7 inch touch display for your car entertainment needs!
AppRadio is a cool implementation with flawed execution out of the box. It needs some customization to bring a lot of value out of it. Apple’s devices work with AppRadio but Android phones allow you full touch access to the beautiful 7 inch display of AppRadio 3 head-units. Apple’s CarPlay requires either a newer car manufactured 2014 and over or purchasing a head unit. AppRadio 3 is a cheaper and better alternative!
Here is what you have to start with
Root LG G3 and install Super SU
ARUnchained (get the latest beta)

Here it is in action. Ask away if you have any questions.
Some tips for a smooth experience :
- When you pair your phone via bluetooth, make sure ‘contacts’ are not allowed to be synched. AppRadio tries to sync all contacts overtime you plug your phone in. This results in minutes of delay before you can utilize the touchscreen.Use the SlimPort cable linked above.
- Cheaper cables can have performance issues. This one costed about $10.
- Get a switch installed for parking break bypass so you don’t have to have your parking break applied for AppRadio’s touch display.
- If you like your iPhone as your daily driver, I would recommend your purchase an Android that has SlimPort capability and pop in a T-Mobile SIM card which gives unlimited Music data.
