apple, ATT, FaceTime, iOS 6, iPhone 4S »

Apple and AT&T decided that it is a great idea to charge for FaceTime on the iPhone! If you have a grandfathered unlimited data plan, you will not be able to FaceTime over cellular network. iOS 6 beta builds did not enforce the restriction but iOS 6 GM build (Gold Master) wasted no time splashing this message when I tried using FaceTime. AT&T expects you to sign up for their mobile share option which is expensive if you have only a line or 2 in your account. I have an …

apple, iPhone5 »

Apple is great at advertising and there is plenty of information on how good the iPhone 5 is. You might not find so many articles outlining the drawbacks of the latest iPhone. This information may be vital for the informed consumer. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the iPhone and Androids are simply not upto mark – build quality, battery, execution – lacking in most respects when compared to the iPhone. I will still get the iPhone 5. I bought every incarnation of the iPhone till date and this …

apple, iPhone 4S, unlock »

Apple is finally letting you buy a factory unlocked iPhone 4S directly from their website. I believe this is a much better deal if you are not eligible for an upgrade and are looking for a good resale value when you are ready for the next best iPhone! I would buy it online for some cashback and the convenience of the iPhone being shipped to our doorstep.

There is a catch though – it is a world phone but limited to GSM worldwide.
How about some cashback?

When it comes to iPhone purchases, not many …

Artificial Intelligence, Siri »

Siri, the intelligent personal assistant equipped on every iPhone 4S is a real treat. She does a great job an intern does for you, for free! Apple experienced difficulties catering to the first day Siri utilization – it just didn’t work (at least int he East Coast) for about 3~4 hours before she started doing what she does best.

Siri is an intelligent engine that learns as you use it. So, don’t expect wonders on day one though she played nice with whatever I threw at her. Following are my attempts …

Steve Jobs passed away around 734PM EST today, October 5th, 2011. The alert on my iPhone (AP breaking news) was shocking to say the least. The man of the century when it comes to technological advancement is no more. The way he transitioned his responsibilities shows how great of a man he is. Steve Jobs, sir you will always be in our hearts.

Charging cables are always a pain to carry and it is even worse when you have to carry multiple cables for different devices. Apple finally bowed to the pressure from the European campaign to standardize the charging cables. It is retailing at £8.00 at Apple’s UK stores and hopefully it makes its way into the US stores soon. This is beneficial to those who use 2 devices : Android and Apple and prefer to carry one cable. You will still have to carry the adapter though. Give it some time while it is available for a …

The much awaited new iPhone announcement left quite a few iPhone 5 hopefuls angry. Media hyped the iPhone 5 craze and every one but Apple were shocked to see the end result.

iPhone 4S is certainly a great iDevice with some great hardware upgrades minus the much desired 4 inch screen. Rumors of a design overhaul didn’t sit too well with the investors after the iPhone 4S announcement, AAPL is trading at $355.06 right at this instant. apple.com is more likely DoS’ed with the millions of users hitting the site from …

I have been using Google+ for about 3 weeks now and it is nothing short of ‘awesome’! An Android app was available long back but Apple approved Google+ today and it looks exactly like that of its Android counterpart. I prefer Google+ over FaceBook for some serious social experience just because there aren’t apps or ads on Google+ just yet. All in all, Google+ is definitely worth a shot.
Download Google+ for your iPhone here if you already have a Google+ account.
I have plenty of Google+ invites to give away. Ask …
